BILL 23-07 – THE GENDER IDENTITY BILL
MEN IN THE GIRL’S SHOWERS
BY ORDER OF MONTGOMERY COUNTY COUNCIL
Montgomery County Council : Phil Andrews, Roger Berliner, Marc Elrich, Valerie Ervin, Nancy Floreen, Mike Knapp, George Leventhal, Marilyn Praisner, Duchy
Bill 23-07, courtesy of Trachtenberg, Ervin and Elrich.
Bill 23-07 adds “gender-identity” to the current Non-Discrimination Law, and will allow males who self identify themselves as females to have open access to ALL women’s and girls’ restrooms, locker rooms, dressing rooms, and showers. In other words, a male teacher or student will be able to use the female restrooms and locker rooms if he thinks he is a female.
BILL WAS PASSED TUESDAY, November 13, 2007
IT DOES NOT INCLUDE AN EXEMPTION FOR SHOWERS AND LOCKERROOMS OR FOR RELIGIOUS ORGANIZATIONS, regardless of how the Montgomery County Council SPIN.
Gender identity non discrimination laws such as this one have been used in Canada to force the teaching of the acceptance of homosexuality on Catholic schools. MCPS health classes currently teach our 12 year olds that “gender identity is your inner sense of whether you are male or female”.

Bill 23-07, as passed by Montgomery County Council November 13,2007 |
| |
STILL NO EXEMPTION to biologically separate locker rooms and showers and area where shared nudity is unavoidable. “Distinctly private or personal facilities”, which the county quotes out of pre-existing desegregation law, refers to privately owned property, not public accommodations which include bathrooms, showers, and locker-rooms. |
| |
Religious organizations are NOT exempt. Religious schools could be forced to hire transgender or trans-sexual kindergarten teachers. |

Montgomery County Council Press Release Nov 2 (note, Montgomery County quotes the Cruzan vs. Davis case, which decided that if a female complains about a male trans-sexual in her locker-room, the female is relegated to the unisex restroom). So, according to Montgomery County’s Duchy Trachtenberg, ladies – hold your tongue! |

WELCOME TO THE SPIN ZONE
The county’s response to your letters has been interesting. From initially admitting the problem (Leventhal), to avoiding the question (Trachtenberg), the council seems to have settled now on mass email responses which provide no information. Your tax dollars at work! Locate your representative and call them directly.
